Fuller’s ESB

Fuller, Smith & Turner, London, UK

The ESB that started it all – multi-award winning Fuller’s ESB is acknowledged as one of the world’s finest beers.  The unique blend of Northdown, Target, Challenger and Goldings hops balances the rich malty notes for a smooth, full bodied beer bursting with marmalade fruitness throughout.

5.9% ABV

Clear dark amber in color with a nose reminiscent of malty apple juice.  Very smooth, but more bitter than Southern Prohibition’s Jack the Sipper.  Also, the bitterness is consistent from the front to the aftertaste.  Very balanced between malt and hops.  Very drinkable: our definition of an ESB.  This was Father Jack’s epiphany beer that led him to shun the mass produced lagers and embrace craft beer.
