Parish South Coast Session Amber

Parish Brewing Company, Broussard, LA

Dark amber in color with a stong malty nose.  The first impression is that it tastes more like a Pale Ale than an Amber.  Malty up front and bitter at the end with a bit of sweetness mid-palate.  We usually associate Amber Ales with more sweetness and this is one of the more bitter Ambers we have tried.  While not unpleasant, when we have an Amber we expect an Amber, not a Pale Ale.

Would we have it again?  Nah

5.1% ABV
