Southern Prohibition Milk Stout

Southern Prohibion Brewing, Hattiesburg, MS

5.25% ABV

Dark brown/black in color with a nose dominated by alcohol.  Light and smooth with a hint of bitterness at the end.  Not as bitter as Shipyard’s Milk Stout, but not as sweet as our homebrew (John Palmer’s Triple-X).  Like the Shipyard, we are divided over this beer: Fr. Jack prefers the Shipyard as he contends that the bitterness does not mesh with the sweetness, i.e. it is a bit off balance.  Large Marge, however, likes this beer more though she agrees that it needs a tad more bitterness to cut the sweetness.

Would we get it again?  Yes

Would we get a 6-pack?  No
