Orpheus Atalanta Tart Plum Saison

Orpheus Brewing, Atlanta, GA

img_4803

In the heroine Atalanta, we see the traits of what we aim for in all of our beers: piquant, deceptively robust, and a bit wild.  A tart plum saison, Atalanta tastes of plums intermingling with spicy yeast, and a refreshing tartness that makes Atalanta as good for pairing with food as by itself.

5.25% ABV

Atalanta is a light hazy gold with a light nose, kind of sour.  Almost smells like a wine.  It tastes sour, then has a wheaty aftertaste.  It is very tart and sour.  This is more like a sour than a saison.  We like it the more we drink it!

Would we have it again? Yes – even Large Marge likes it!

6 pack? Nah, Father Jack would rather get Duchesse de Bourgogne
