Lagunitas Brewing Company, Petaluma, CA; Chicago, IL
The 12th of Never Ale is everything we’ve learned about making hop forward beer expressed in a moderate voice. Pale, cold, slightly alcoholic, and bitter. It’s all we know.
Clear gold in color with a piney and fruity nose like most Lagunitas beers that we have had. On the palate hops are overwhelming: like drinking liquified Citra hops. We are slowly coming to the conclusion that Lagunitas beers taste very similar to each other. They are well made, drinkable beers but not distinct in any way. We may have to test our theory by blind tasting someone on Lagunitas beers. Will update.
Would we have it again? Nah…
