Gnarly Barley Brewing, Hammond, LA
Black as pitch with a dark chocolate and coffee nose. Tastes like a sweet milk stout. Just enough bitterness to it, but it is in layers: sweet malt base and bitterness on top. The two layers do not interact but somehow complement each other. Sweetness dominates at the end. More chocolate than coffee. Sweet — bitter — sweet: like a romantic comedy with a interlude of Rambo in the middle… But in a good way!
