Southern Star Pine Belt Pale Ale

Southern Star Brewing, Conroe, TX

IMG_4348

6.3% ABV

Hazy amber in color with a nose that reminds us of a Double IPA.  Tastes like a malty Double IPA.  There is a bit of bitterness at the end.  At 6.3% it seems like this beer is walking the line between IPA and Double IPA.  Father Jack suggests the need for a name for beers like this and St. Arnold Art Car IPA that ride the line.  He suggests “Big IPA” or “Baby Double IPA”.  Thoughts?

Would we have it again? Nah…
