Brooklyn Oktoberfest

Brooklyn Brewery, Utica, NY

Brooklyn Oktoberfest is a rich, malty version of the lager brewed for the fall festival which originated in Germany celebrating the betrothal of the Crown Prince of Bavaria in 1810.  Taking it’s cues from the traditional style, our Oktoberfest is an amber lager brewed in the Marzen style with a full body, bready aroma and light, brisk hop bitterness.  Perfect for all your autumn festivities whether they be a royal wedding or a rooftop party in Williamsburg.  Prost!

5.5% ABV

Dark amber in color and smells a lot like an Amber Ale.  A sweet beer with some bitterness at the end.  Does not have the burnt aftertaste that many Oktoberfest beers we have tried.  Bitterness is more biscuity than burnt, and not at all off putting.  Medium to full bodied with a lot of depth for a lager.  Perhaps we like it because it does not conform to the traditional style.

Would we have it again?  We would not seek this beer out, but it is very drinkable and our preferred Oktoberfest beer…
